Originally published as Computer Classifieds in California in 1983. The magazine was renamed Computer Currents in 1984. It was a initially distributed in northern California but spread across the country through a franchise system. By 1987 there were editions being published for southern California, Atlanta, Austin, New York, and Boston. Founded by Yale Brozen with Steve Scivally their first prototype issue (00) was released in February 1994. Issue 01 came out only a few months later in May 1994. The magazine had a total of 23 issues before being merged into Computer Games Strategy Plus Magazine.
